                                                   Quill of the Hill

He is justifiably proud of his family. He met his wife, Linda, in college and they will have been married 40 years in November. She is self-employed with her own accounting business. They have two children, Lori and Lloyd, who are both married, live in Texas and both have presented Father Norris with granddaughters - the newest only seven months old (ask to see the pictures). Lloyd works in stock transactions and Lori is a speech therapist. She also looks after "the granddog", Sammy.

Father Norris enjoys photography, traveling with the Corvette Club (they go to a different place every two months), going to car shows, and working in his yard and garden. For vacation time he loves mountains (in the summer)-Colorado, Wyoming, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and the coast of California, north of San Diego, where the mountains meet the ocean. Another thing he loves doing is flying ultra-light airplanes for which he took lessons and passed the FAA test!

Retirement is just three years away when he will have completed his 20 years here. He plans to stay busy. "That's the best thing you can do when you retire, is keep working at something and stay active." He is interested in volunteer work that is similar to the type of work he is doing now. And it will be nice to have more time to do the things he and Linda want to do when they want to do them.

But father Norris will remember all the wonderful residents he has known at St. Simeon's. "I have been blessed to be a part of a wonderful facility that truly does accomplish its ministry and purpose for being. I am honored to have been associated with all the other hard working staff that make it possible for St. Simeon's to be the premier facility of its kind". And we appreciate him. There's no doubt that St. Simeon's will be a much different place when fathers Norris "hangs up his collar".
