The Western Days 2002 "Oil Patch Blowout" was a huge success and several Auxiliary members played key roles! The event raised more than $62,000 for the Home. Proceeds will allow the Home to purchase: 1) a magnifier visual reader computer with color monitor to allow residents with limited vision to read their personal mail, newspapers, and books; 2) two low-pressure beds to provide greater comfort to Health Care Center residents with frail skin; and, 3) two new canopies that will provide residents and families protection from the elements as they enter and exit the Home.

Kevin Murray and Mary Lou Driskill hosted the "Fall Cookout" on October 17th. What a great time! Kevin served as the Grill Chef and did a masterful job grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. John        Southern volunteered to sing and play the guitar. He was a big hit and will definitely be invited back for an encore performance. The City View patio was decorated with iron candlesticks, cowboy/cowgirl cutouts, and potted flowers.

Best of all was the large number of residents, family members and friends who were able to enjoy each other's company and the beautiful weather on the City View Dining Patio. The first annual outdoor cookout sponsored by the Auxiliary was definitely a "wiener".

The November meeting of the Auxiliary is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th at 10:00 a.m. in the Saint Simeon's Multi-Media Room.
