Adult Day Services One of the more unique features of Saint Simeon’s Adult Day Services (ADS) is our ability to take participants on many field trips. Just in the past few weeks, we have enjoyed a picnic in Hunter Park, viewed the Azaleas in Woodward Park, and attended the Auxiliary’s Annual Luncheon “Safari” at the Home. We also enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt in our own backyard. Pam Paschall, ADS Supervisor, recently set up the Adult Day Services exhibit at the Broken Arrow Senior Fair. This was a great opportunity to let others in the community know how families can benefit by accessing our program. Please let us know if you know of a family that may appreciate learning more about the services we offer. The Adult Day Services Support Group will meet on Thursday, May 8th at 1:00 p.m. The support group meetings are scheduled on the second Thursday of each month at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church. Saint Simeon’s Auxiliary is presenting the four-part series On Our Own Terms – Bill Moyers on Dying
Wednesday, May 14th, 11:30 am (Each video is 90 minutes in length and lunch will be provided) On Our Own Terms “presents remarkable human stories of the dying and their wishes to meet life’s ultimate passage with compassion, comfort, and dignity.” Emmy award-winning journalist Bill Moyers looks at how we die in America, the daily experience of patients and their families, and the decisions they face and the changes they undergo. Along with this deeply personal perspective, we meet the medical, legal, and public policy experts who offer suggestions for improving conditions for all of us. Reservations are not necessary but please let us know if you think you will be attending so we have some idea about meals. Contact Brenda at 425-3583 |
