"Wish Books"
Most of us get catalogs we never heard of! Which doesn't mean we don't find them interesting and less tiring than going shopping.
In a book catalog the other day, Rezzy found a most "quotable quote". Here it is:
"What I like in a good author is not what he says, but what he whispers".
- Logan Pearsall Smith
We haven't had a "book reviewer" in Rezzy Dent for several years but with our Library (west end a corridor A) being re-stocked, we'd love to have you share your response to whatever you're reading.
Doris Brown found the following book to be "fascinating."
Here is her review of it.
READER'S CHOICE
“A Rift in Time”
a novel of beginnings … a prelude to the end -
by Michael Phillips
Archeologist Adam Livingstone, in his quest for truths of the Bible, encounters mystery, danger, romance and unexpected quandaries of the soul.
Adam faces his own test of faith … whether the word of God can be scientifically proven or the events of Genesis mere myth.
You won't be able to put this book down! You will find many truths between the lines. It's fascinating!
(Doris recommends Talking Books, too!)
All of us in Cityview Dining Room enjoyed Mary Gray's birthday last month! --- She shared with us her birthday roses!!

The best thing about the too-hot days in mid-July was when the heat broke and the light breeze was a pleasure.
One resident has been known to tell visitors who ask whether Oklahoma has four seasons:
"Almost any week." He should add "except in the summer."
Tsk! Tsk! Department
Here's a headline from a July 4 newspaper. (We will not shame the writer of the article because some one else may have written the headline.)
HEADLINE: "Man on the Train" offers a rouge and a scholar, each mourning the road not taken:
English Teachers of St. Simeon's Unite! - write SOMEBODY to explain what a difference spelling makes!
A ROGUE might hold a serious discussion with a scholar; but it scarcely seems possible that a scholar was mourning over the tint not perfected in a pot of ROUGE!
A Cool Success
A pleasant evening, an appreciative crowd and exceptional music by the Tulsa Community Band all contributed to a very enjoyable evening at the annual Ice Cream Social.
Boy Scouts served trays of ice cream and other refreshments to the waiting listeners.
Plan now to attend the Ice Cream Social next year!
