Saint Simeon's Auxiliary News

The Residents' Library project has been a huge success thanks to the Auxiliary. Judy Lawson and the Auxiliary's Library Committee have done outstanding work. As an added benefit to the residents, Auxiliary volunteers are available each Wednesday in the library for two hours-10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. -to assist residents find their favorite books. The library is open for business 24 hours a day, seven days a week but if you have questions or suggestions please feel free to drop in on Wednesdays between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to visit with the volunteer librarian. Again, a big thank you to Judy Lawson, Karen Garren, Gayle Eby, Dr. Reece Boone and Lou Anne Harris. We also want to thank Phil Matthews for making new shelf racks that allow magazines to be easily displayed in the “Book Nook” located in the Assisted Living lobby area. The “Book Nook” is stocked with magazines and paperback books for everyone to enjoy.

Paula Owens and the Tree of Dreams committee continue to fulfill resident wishes and dreams. Residents submitting dreams have received individual parties and participated in group outings as a result of this exciting new resident-centered program. Please call Brenda at 425-3583, ext. 200 if you would like to join the fun.

Western Days 2003 is coming soon and several Auxiliary members are working with Marilyn Morris - Western Days Chairperson, Stephen Mason, and the Foundation Board to make this event a success. Auxiliary member Lou Anne Harris has taken on the huge task of acquiring items for the silent auction and is doing an incredible job. If you can help us solicit items in the $100 range or more, please call Stephen at 425-3583, ext. 237.

Residents Donate Bookmarks

Vallee Kidd, Ruth Johnson, June Moffeit, Elnora Lowe and Violet Cox used their creative talents to make 45 bookmarks for the Tulsa Central Library's children's' summer reading program. We are sure the children will have fun using their new handmade bookmarks.

Thank you, ladies!

Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, love more, and all good things will be yours."
