Life Enrichment Outings

Each time we go on an outing with residents who require assistance, we call families or other responsible parties for permission to take them. If we are unable to reach anyone to obtain permission, we cannot take the resident. To be sure your loved one gets to go on an outing even if we are unable to reach you, you are welcome to write a letter to St. Simeon's stating that you give permission for all outings. The letter can be directed to Chris Smith, Life Enrichment Director, and will be posted in the resident's medical chart.

Please note that we will still notify you when we will be going on an outing, so that you do not phone or arrive at the home for a visit and find your loved one away unexpectedly.

Saint Simeon's Transportation Services

In addition to recreational outings, St. Simeon's provides two types of transportation for its residents. The first is a series of van trips scheduled weekly on Tuesday through Friday for residents of the Assisted and Cottage Living areas. The van departs from the Assisted Living lobby as follows:

Wednesday9:30 a.m.Appointments/Errands
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday1:30 p.m.Appointments/Errands
Friday1:30 p.m.Shopping

Residents with medical appointments have priority over other shopping or errands, but the schedule can usually be adapted to meet everyone's needs.

The second type of transportation is scheduled as needed for special situations. While family members usually transport residents to physician appointments or to and from the hospital, at times it can be difficult, if not impossible. In these cases, when an ambulance is not needed, we can provide transportation in a wheelchair accessible van. If a resident needs more assistance than can be provided by Life Enrichment staff, the family will be asked to accompany the resident or to provide an attendant.

If your resident needs transportation, it works best to have the Life Enrichment Department schedule appointments for you. This way you can be sure that a van is available when you need it. Just call Chris Smith at 425-3583 ext. 204. There is no charge for this service.

Day Of Remembrance

Join with us as we celebrate, through laughter and tears, the lives of Saint Simeon's residents who have passed away this past year. Family members, friends and staff are invited to attend and share your own personal stories and memories.
