The Auxiliary

...the purpose of the Saint Simeon's Auxiliary is to
enrich and enhance the lives of Saint Simeons' Residents...

“Our Home is Built on Love” is more than a slogan at Saint Simeon’s. An enthusiastic group of dedicated volunteers – the Saint Simeon’s Auxiliary – demonstrates this everyday. Since 1961 this volunteer organization has been enriching and enhancing the lives of Saint Simeon’s residents. Last year alone the members of the Auxiliary provided over 2,000 hours of volunteer services to the Home.

The major focus of the Auxiliary members involves planning, coordinating and carrying out special programs designed for the residents, for example:

  • The Tree of Dreams volunteers fulfill resident wishes and perform random acts of kindness for residents.
  • The Resident’s Library which boasts a collection of over 2,500 volumes, including a large selection of large print books, is maintained by the volunteers.
  • Education Programs are offered for residents, families and the community by the Auxiliary.
  • The Auxiliary Landscape Committee helps with planting and maintaining flowers, shrubs and trees in the Home’s courtyards and many flower beds.
  • Auxiliary volunteers serve patrons at the Home’s Ice Cream Parlor which is very popular with residents and their families.

The Auxiliary is proud to sponsor special events at the Home for residents and family members including the Ice Cream Social with the Tulsa Community Band, the Fall “Oktoberfest” Cookout, and the Residents’ Christmas Party. Equally important is volunteer time spent visiting one-on-one with residents.

Auxiliary meetings are held each month from September through May. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Meetings are held in Saint Simeon’s Common Room at 3701 N. Cincinnati.
