Annual Fund
The Annual Fund campaign is of overriding importance in meeting the growth needs and quality maintenance of Saint Simeon's. Gifts from this campaign are the principal source of funds for enlarging and maintaining the Home's facilities and purchasing new equipment that enhances the quality of life for our residents.

Resident Benevolent Fund
Saint Simeon's receives no government subsidization. Residents of Saint Simeon's, who depend on their own savings and resources or the support of their families, are especially attracted to the independence the Home promises. Despite good planning, however, unforeseen changes in the availability of resources or a change in the level-of-care needs of a resident may cause a family to realize it is no longer able to afford the full cost of the Home's services.

Our strong desire is to not have any resident required to move due to financial constraints. The Resident Benevolent Fund helps residents who find themselves in this predicament and who may need special help to continue residency in the Home.

Since the Fund's inception, over $2 million has been provided to give help in such circumstances.

Unrestricted Gifts
Because these gifts are not directed toward serving a specific purpose, as the Annual Fund and the Resident Benevolent Fund are intended to do, Unrestricted Gifts support the regular operations and fill the special, unexpected needs that are critical to the home's commitment to providing daily quality care for Home residents and Adult Day Services Participants.

Ways To Give

Gifts of Cash represent the simplest way to support Saint Simeon's Home and the residents and families it serves. Cash gifts may come in the form of memorials and tributes to honor a family member or friend, to the Annual Fund to help expand and maintain the home, to the Resident Benevolent Fund for personal support of residents, or for some other restricted or unrestricted purpose.

Bequests in Wills is an excellent way to achieve one's goal of helping Saint Simeon's today - and into the future.

Gifts of Securities often serve a good financial purpose for Saint Simeon's and for the giver. Contributing stocks that have increased in value may represent a substantial gift to Saint Simeon's - with favorable tax implications for the giver. With securities that have decreased in value, you may sell the securities, donate the cash to Saint Simeon's and take the capital loss on your tax return.

Gifts of Real Estate that can be converted to cash by Saint Simeon's is another form of giving that may provide favorable tax consequences to the giver.

Life Insurance naming Saint Simeon's as a beneficiary is a method of leaving to the home a gift of substantial value at marginal cost to the giver.

I expect to pass through life but once. If, therefore, there can be any kindness I can show, or any good things I can do to any fellow human being, let me do it now, and not defer it or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again."
--William Penn

All these ways to give have the eventual effect of helping Saint Simeon's home preserve and improve its ability to serve the home's residents and their families.

The Vision

Saint Simeon's Foundation performs a special role - for a special place.

The mission of Saint Simeon's Episcopal Home is to be an exceptional retreat for those who, in the later years of life, wish to spend that potentially rewarding period with the highest attainable level of independence, dignity, and individuality.

For some at Saint Simeon's that is an active time, affording the opportunity to pursue with zeal interests crowded out in an earlier life by unrelenting schedules and responsibilities. For others, incapable of coping with some impairment of health - even as devastating as Alzheimer's - Saint Simeon's offers a level of care that is as sensitively and non-intrusive as possible, but always attentive to every need.

A dream of the late Dr. Edward Eckel, Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tulsa, the Home was made possible by the efforts of the Episcopal Church Women of Oklahoma. Operated under the auspices of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma, as a non-profit organization with a host of generous donors, Saint Simeon's is able to provide more hours of care per resident, and invest more resources in resident care, than is possible by the typical for-profit facility.

The Saint Simeon's Foundation serves as a resource to assist persons seeking ways to help the residents and families served by the Home.

The Foundation is prepared to provide any information you may need about Saint Simeon's Episcopal Home, and can assist you in choosing ways to include the Home in your charitable giving program.

Stephen Mason, a graduate of the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary, is the Foundation's Executive Director. He can be reached via email or via phone at 918.425.3583, and will be pleased to discuss the Home and its programs with you.
