Western Days 2008 - The Driller's Bash

More friends and fun, a bigger and more comfortable venue, and a Resident centered goal…. that's Western Days 2008 ! We are excited to announce that the 12 th annual Western Days 2008 , benefiting the Residents of Saint Simeon's will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008.

The theme for Western Days 2008 is “The Driller's Bash.” A major and exciting change this year is that our event will be held indoors at the recently opened Central Park Hall at EXPO Square , home of the famed Driller. This new art deco facility will offer much improved parking, more than twice the space we had in the tent last year, protection from the unpredictable Oklahoma weather and a great audio/visual system for everyone's benefit.

Join us this year as we honor the outstanding works of the Flint family – Joan, the late Bill, Patty Flint (a Resident of the Home), Robin Ballenger, Boofy Seay and Charles Flint. The Flint family believes in the mission of the Home and contributes their time, talents and treasure to improve the quality of life for all Residents. Help us let them know how much we appreciate all they do for Saint Simeon's and our community.

The “Driller's Bash” net goal is $350,000. The Trustees will use the proceeds to enhance the landscaping plans for the new $22MM Assisted Living and Wellness Centers; replace the van used to transport participants at our Adult Day Services program; provide a bariatric bed for larger Residents; replace three whirlpool tubs; add eight new low beds w/ exit alarms for Resident safety; enhance the Common Room sound system for Resident enjoyment and replace the Common Room doors; and, purchase three whirlpool tub lift chairs, six lift slings and two shower chairs.

Six sponsor and patron levels are available and are outlined on the “Sponsorship Opportunities” reply form. Please respond by Friday, May 30, 2008 so that we can properly recognize your support in pre-event publicity. With your help we are confident we will reach our $350,000 goal. Saint Simeon's is not a United Way Agency, and we count on the support of friends like you for the financial assistance required.

You and your friends will enjoy a memorable evening including a tribute to the Flint family, a delicious ”Driller's Bash” dinner, exciting silent and live auctions, baked goods from the General Store, sponsoring opportunities for the Residents' benefit in the “From the Heart to the Home” section, miniature horses, and much more!

On behalf of all the wonderful Residents, their families, the staff and our committee, thank you for considering our request. Together we can celebrate at the “Driller's Bash” and enhance the quality of life for Residents who call Saint Simeon's home.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Williams
